As a further step towards the understanding of the dynamics of cellular automata, this paper investigates the limit behavior of \(\mu\)-equicontinuous cellular automata, which were introduced by Gilman in the eighties. More specifically, the authors of this paper extend the work of \textit{F. Blanchard} and \textit{P. Tisseur} [Ann. Inst. Henri Poincaré, Probab. Stat. 36, No. 5, 569--582 (2000; Zbl 0964.37011)] in the sense they answer their question about the nature of the limit measure of \(\mu\)-equicontinuous cellular automata. Conditions are given under which the limit measure is of maximal entropy, shift-ergodic or ergodic. Theorems and proofs to support their claims are given, which, in my opinion, require familiarity with the field.
