    Let \(A_\alpha^2\) and \(b_\alpha^2\) be the Bergman space and the pluriharmonic Bergman space on the unit ball \({\mathbb B}_n\) in \({\mathbb C}^n\), respectively. The paper is devoted to the study of commutators \([T_f,T_g]=T_fT_g-T_gT_f\) and semi-commutators \((T_f,T_g]=T_fT_g-T_{fg}\) of two Toeplitz operators \(T_f\) and \(T_g\) on the spaces \(A_\alpha^2\) and \(b_\alpha^2\). The finite rank commutators and semi-commutators of Toeplitz operators are completely characterized on both \(A_\alpha^2\) and \(b_\alpha^2\) for monomial symbols of the form \(z^p\overline{z}^q\). The authors are able to overcome combinatorial difficulties and uncover new phenomena related to higher dimensions.
