A locally convex quasi \(C^*\)-algebra is obtained by taking the completion of a \(C^*\)-normed algebra \(A_0[\| \cdot\|_0]\) with respect to a topology \(\tau\) weaker than the topology defined by the norm \(\|\cdot\|_0\); see [\textit{J.-P. Antoine, A. Inoue} and \textit{C. Trapani}, Partial \(*\)-algebras and their operator realizations. Dordrecht: Kluwer (2002; Zbl 1023.46004)]. An abstract locally convex quasi \(C^*\)-normed algebra may be represented into a locally convex quasi \(C^*\)-normed algebra of operators. In this paper, the author investigates linear functionals on a locally convex quasi \(C^*\)-normed algebra of operators which are positive on a certain \(*\)-algebra of bounded operators. He also establishes the representability of weakly continuous linear functionals and studies the relationship between quasi-positivity of elements and the usual notion of positivity of operators.
