Let \(M\subset G_2({\mathbb C}^{m+2})\;(m\geq3)\) be a connected real hypersurface in a complex two-plane Grassmannian with a unit normal vector field \(N\). The~structure vector field \(\xi\) on \(M\) is defined by \(\xi=-JN\), where \(J\) is the complex structure on \(G_2({\mathbb C}^{m+2})\). If \(\xi\) is a principal curvature vector of \(M\) everywhere then \(M\) is called a Hopf hypersurface. The authors prove that if \(M\) is either compact or Hopf, and \(\xi\) is of Jacobi type, then \(\xi\) is a Killing vector field. As a consequence they obtain that on a compact or Hopf real hypersurface \(M\subset G_2({\mathbb C}^{m+2})\;(m\geq3)\), the structure vector field \(\xi\) is of Jacobi type if and only if \(M\) is a tube around a totally geodesic \(G_2({\mathbb C}^{m+1})\subset G_2({\mathbb C}^{m+2})\).
