The authors investigate the extension problem on the Sierpiński gasket \(SG\). Firstly, they minimize the functional \(\mathcal{E}_\lambda (f) := \mathcal{E}(f,f) + \lambda \int_{SG} f^2 d\mu\) with prescribed values on a finite set of points \(\{x_1, \ldots, x_n\}\subset SG\setminus V_0\) with \(V_0\) denoting the analytical boundary of \(SG\). Here, \( \mathcal{E}\) is the energy functional and \(\mu\) the self-similar measure on \(SG\). The unique minimizer is explicitly constructed and has the form \(f = \sum_i c_i G_\lambda (\cdot, x_i)\), where \(c_i\in \mathbb R\) and \(G_\lambda\) is the resolvent for \(\lambda\geq 0\). Properties of the quadratic form \(\mathcal{E}_\lambda\) are studied both for arbitrary and specific subsets of \(SG\). The second part of the paper deals with minimizing \(\int_{SG} |\Delta f|^2 d\mu\), where \(\mu\) is now a general measure. Uniqueness and existence of the minimizer are shown.
