The authors study perturbations of frames. Firstly, they obtain a sufficient condition under which the perturbation of a frame in a Hilbert space is still a frame. This condition is a stronger condition than the one put up by \textit{O. Christensen} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 123, No.~4, 1217--1220 (1995; Zbl 0838.42018)] by adding one more requirement, where Christensen's condition is only enough to get a frame sequence. Following the same line, they obtain a sufficient condition under which the perturbation of a near-Riesz basis is a near-Riesz basis in Hilbert spaces. Most importantly, they obtain a sufficient condition such that the perturbation of a frame sequence is a frame sequence in Hilbert spaces. This condition is motivated by the concept of gap which was put up by \textit{O. Christensen} et al. [Rocky Mt. J. Math. 30, No.~4, 1237--1249 (2000; Zbl 1161.42309)] and which just adds one more condition related with the gap between the generated subspaces of the two sequences. Finally, they also consider similar problems for perturbations of Schauder frames in Banach spaces.
