In this paper, the authors extend several results on recollements \((\mathcal{C'},\mathcal{C},\mathcal{C"} )\) of triangulated categories to the more general situation of upper (respectively lower) recollements. This is done by meas of stable \(t\)-structures induced by adjoint pairs. They generalize the results of \textit{B. J. Parshall} and \textit{L. L. Scott} [in: Algebra, Proc. Workshop, Ottawa/Can. and Moosonee/Can. 1987, Math. Lect. Note Ser., Expo. Math., CRAF, Carleton Univ. 3, 105 p. (1988; Zbl 0711.18002)] on comparisons of recollements. When looking at module categories over Artin algebras, on may consider upper (lower) recollements \((D^b (A '),D^b (A),D^b (A ''))\) of bounded derived categories. The authors generalize a result of \textit{A. Wiedemann} [Can. Math. Bull. 34, No. 2, 275--280 (1991; Zbl 0753.16006)] on the global dimension, and result of \textit{D. Happel} [Tsukuba J. Math. 17, No. 1, 115--130 (1993; Zbl 0809.16021)] on the finitistic dimension of Artin algebras. Finally, a notion of triangle expansion is introduced and illustrated by examples, generalizing the expansions of abelian categories of \textit{X.-W. Chen} and \textit{H. Krause} [J. Pure Appl. Algebra 215, No. 12, 2873--2883 (2011; Zbl 1267.18010)].
