Markov-type inequalities for the \(L^\infty\) norm on multidimensional regions and manifolds have been extensively studied. The authors study problems dealing with best constants in multivariate Markov-type inequalities with the \(L^2\) norm and for partial derivatives of arbitrary order. The one dimensional versions of the results presented here have recently been proved by the authors [Linear Algebra Appl. 430, No.~4, 1057--1069 (2009; Zbl 1162.41004); Mat. Nach. 283, No.~1, 40--57 (2010; Zbl 1186.41004)].
