Let \(G(\Phi,F)\) be an adjoint simply laced Chevalley group over a commutative ring \(F\). Theorem A asserts that there is an element \(g\in E(\Phi,F[t])\) such that the subgroup generated by \(g\) and \(E(\Phi,F)\) is the free product of \(\langle g\rangle\) and \(E(\Phi,F)\).
