Let \(S_{g,n}\) be an orientable surface of genus \(g\) with \(n\) punctures, where \(3g-3+n\geq 2\). The authors study lower and upper bounds of minimal asymptotic pseudo-Anosov translation lengths on the complex of curves of \(S_{g,n}\). The lower bound is established by considering the study on actions of pseudo-Anosov maps by \textit{H. A. Masur} and \textit{Y. N. Minsky} [Invent. Math. 138, No. 1, 103--149 (1999; Zbl 0941.32012)] and an invariant train track constructed by the Bestvina-Handel algorithm [\textit{M. Bestvina} and \textit{M. Handel}, Topology 34, No. 1, 109--140 (1995; Zbl 0837.57010)]. The upper bound is established for the case of \(n=0\) by using a pseudo-Anosov map constructed by \textit{R. C. Penner} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 113, No. 2, 443--450 (1991; Zbl 0726.57013)]. It is shown that these two bounds for closed surfaces are of the same order. In the case of \(n>0\), upper bounds are described for several families of punctured surfaces.
