The author considers asymptotic tetrahedra in hyperbolic space, i.e., 3-simplices having at least one vertex at infinity. Based on suitable dissections, their volume is given as a sum of 15 dilogarithms which contain linear functions of the dihedral angles, and by this a formula due to J. Milnor (for hyperbolic tetrahedra with all vertices at infinity) is extended. The obtained volume formula yields a new and simple expression for the sum over certain Gaussian integrals. From the physical point of view, this corresponds to the four-dimensional three point function of Euclidean quantum field theory, i.e., to \[ \int_{R^4} \prod^3_{k=1} (q^2_1 +\cdots +q^2_4+b_{1k} q_1+ \cdots +b_{4k} q_4+d_k)^{-1} dq_1 \cdots dq_4. \] (These 15 dilogarithms contain inverse trigonometric functions which are symmetric in the parameters \(b_{jk}\) and \(d_k\), \(j=1, \dots, 4\) and \(k=1,2,3.)\) Finally, an independent approach by E. B. Vinberg (in a stronger sense based on geometric dissections) is mentioned.
