A submanifold \(M\) of an almost Hermitian manifold \(\overline {M}\) is called a generic submanifold if its maximal complex subspaces form a differential distribution (cf. [\textit{B. Y. Chen}, Monatsh. Math. 91, 257- 274 (1981; Zbl 0451.53041)]). On a generic submanifold \(M\), the almost complex structure \(J\) of \(\overline{M}\) induces a canonical endomorphism \(P\) of the tangent bundle \(TM\) of \(M\) and a canonical normal bundle valued 1-form \(F\) on \(TM\). In this article, the authors obtained necessary conditions for a generic submanifold in a locally conformal Kähler manifold \(\overline {M}\) which satisfies one of the following conditions: (1) \(P\) is parallel, (2) \(F\) is parallel, (3) \(M\) is a generic product submanifold, or (4) \(M\) is a totally umbilical generic submanifold.
