The paper relates Weil-étale cohomology to usual étale cohomology. The relation is ``the same'' between the Weil group and the usual Galois group of a local field, or between \(\mathbb{Z}\) and its profinite completion. It is described by a map of topoi, and the main result is a computation of the derived images of constant sheaves. This is then used to describe Weil-étale cohomology in terms of usual étale cohomology, and to elucidate some conjectures (Lichtenbaum) in this new context.
