    The well-posedness of Dirichlet and Neumann boundary valued problems is studied for second order elliptic systems \[ \sum_{j,k=0}^n \sum_{\beta =1}^m \partial_j A_{j,k}^{\alpha, \beta}(x) \partial_k U^\beta(t,x)=0, \quad \alpha = 1, \dots, m, \] on half-spaces \(\mathbb R_\pm^{1+n} = \{ (t,x) \in\mathbb R\times\mathbb R^n\); \(\pm t > 0\}\), with \(n \geq 1\). The matrix \[ A = \big(A_{j,k}^{\alpha, \beta}(x)\big)_{j,k=0,\dots, n}^{\alpha,\beta=1,\dots, m} \in L_\infty \big(\mathbb R^n;{\mathcal L}(\mathbb C^{(1+n)m})\big) \] is \(t\)-independent, with complex entries, satisfying certain positivity properties. The authors give precise definitions of what is meant by well-posedness for the different types of boundary conditions, after which they prove that the matrices \(A\) for which the problems are well-posed form open sets in \( L_\infty (\mathbb R^n;{\mathcal L}(\mathbb C^{(1+n)m}))\). The results can be extended to more general systems as it is exemplified for boundary value problems for differential forms.
