Let \(\beta=(\beta_n)\) be a~sequence of nonnegative real numbers and let \(r\) be a~natural number. A~sequence of complex numbers \(c=(c_n)\) is said to be \((\beta,r)\)-general monotone, or \(c\in\text{GM}(\beta,r)\), if there is \(C>0\) such that \(\sum_{n=m}^{2m-1}|c_n-c_{n+r}|\leq C\beta_m\) for all \(m\in\mathbb N\). A~sequence~\(c\) is said to be a~\((\beta,r)\)-rest bounded variation sequence, or \(c\in\text{RBVS}(\beta,r)\), if there is \(C>0\) such that \(\sum_{n=m}^\infty|c_n-c_{n+r}|\leq C\beta_m\) for all \(m\in\mathbb N\). The author presents necessary and sufficient conditions of \(L\)-convergence of the series \(\sum_{k=-\infty}^\infty c_ke^{ikx}\) with coefficients in classes \(\text{GM}(\beta,r)\) and \(\text{RBVS}(\beta,r)\). He extends and generalizes results of \textit{S.~Tikhonov} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 347, No. 2, 416--427 (2008; Zbl 1257.42009)].
