The authors obtain some extensions of the Meir-Keeler fixed point theorem to JS-metric spaces. Further, they introduce two classes of Meir-Keeler type contractions and, for each class, they give sufficient conditions for the existence of fixed points. The paper is organized as follows: In Section 2, the authors give some definitions related to the notion of JS-metric spaces. Also they introduce two classes of Meir-Keeler type contractions in the framework of JS-metric spaces. Some examples of mappings that belong to the introduced classes are presented. Section 3 states and proves the main results of this paper. In Section 4, some particular cases are discussed.
