The author tries to answer the following four questions: Why fuzzy sets in OR? What are fuzzy sets? Where can they be used? and How are they being used? These questions are the titles of the main chapters of the paper. The author presents many examples of different types of fuzzy sets applications in OR (as a modelling language and as an algorithmic tool). The bibliography and references include 54 items. The author touches also the important problem of a proper choice of membership functions and operators in real applications of fuzzy sets (when he tries to answer the question: How are fuzzy sets being used?). The paper may be very interesting for readers who are not familiar with the subject (as an introduction to the problem of fuzzy sets applications in OR) as well as for those who are acquainted with it (as an analysis of the state and perspectives of the development of fuzzy sets applications in OR).
