Let X be a CW-complex of the form \(S^ 2\cup e^ 4\cup e^ 6\), and let \(x_ j\in H^{2j}(X,{\mathbb{Z}})\) be generators. If m,n are defined by \(x^ 2_ 1=mx_ 2,\quad x_ 1\cdot x_ 2=nx_ 3,\) then the author proves that (a) (m,n) determines the homotopy type of X if \(Sq^ 2: H^ 4(X;{\mathbb{Z}}/2)\to H^ 6(X;{\mathbb{Z}}/2)\) is trivial, (b) \(Sq^ 2\) is trivial on \(H^ 4\) for odd m, and (c) if \(Sq^ 2\) is nontrivial on \(H^ 4\) then for a given (m,n) there are exactly two homotopy types X which are distinguished by an element of order 2 in \(\pi_ 5(4\)- skeleton).
