Analogues to results for inverse M-matrices, conditions are obtained such that an \(n\times n\) matrix M with nonpositive elements is an inverse \(N_ 0\)-matrix, i.e. \(M^{-1}=tI-B\) with B nonnegative and \(\lambda \leq t<\rho (B)\), where \(\lambda\) is the maximum of the spectral radii of the principal submatrices of order n-1. Furthermore totally nonpositive inverse \(N_ 0\)-matrices and the invariance of inverse \(N_ 0\)-matrices under transformations with unitary rank 1 matrices are examined, as well as the LU-decomposition of inverse \(N_ 0\)-matrices.
