The present work represents a contribution to the program, initiated by the first author and \textit{R. G. Muncaster} [e.g.: ibid. 14, 127-154 (1984; Zbl 0562.73017)], of the developing exact solutions to specific problems. Here we focus on plane motions of pseudo-rigid bodies. We especially emphasize situations where, by virtue of some combination of first integrals, symmetry, and kinematical constraints, the problem is reducible to one which can be treated by phase-plane analysis. We set forth once and for all the kinematical and constitutive framework of the work, and we analyze a series of problems with the common property that they all concern the motion of bodies of circular undeformed cross- sections whose centers of mass are fixed. We study the motion of initially circular laminae with some point other than the center of mass fixed, and we discuss the rolling motion of a pseudo-rigid lamina. Finally, we consider a rather novel example of a highly constrained motion in the so-called bearing geometry.
