An almost cosymplectic structure on a \((2m+1)\)-dimensional differentiable manifold M is a quadruple (\(\Omega\),\(\eta\),\(\xi\),g) formed by a 2-form \(\Omega\), a 1-form \(\eta\), a vector field \(\xi\) and a Riemannian or pseudo-Riemannian metric g such that \(\Omega^ m\wedge \eta \neq 0\) everywhere on M and \(g(X,\xi)=\eta (X)\) for any \(X\in {\mathcal X}(M)\). In the present paper, the authors study almost cosymplectic structures satisfying additionally the condition \(\nabla_ X\xi =c\{X-\eta (X)\xi \}\) for certain constant c. Among others, it is proved that a manifold endowed with such a structure is foliated by umbilical hypersurfaces N normal to \(\xi\). And if M is a space-form, say M(\(\lambda\)), then \(\lambda =-c^ 2/4\) and the Gauss map of the immersion x: \(N\to M\) is conformal and N is Einsteinian.
