The paper completes the study of extremal divisorial contractions of terminal 3-folds. The author treats the non-Gorenstein cases by showing all possible contractions, the other cases has been widely investigated [\textit{M. Kawakita}, J. Am. Math. Soc. 16, No.2, 331--362 (2003; Zbl 1059.14021); Compos. Math. 133, No.1, 95--116 (2002; Zbl 1059.14020) and Invent. Math. 145, No.1, 105--119 (2001; Zbl 1091.14007)]. This impressing amount of work is crucial in many aspects of minimal model theory for 3-folds. The author is able to extend his techniques to the non-Gorenstein case and corrects some inaccuracies of previous papers completing the proof of the general elephant conjecture for 3-folds germs. The paper is quite technical and relies, more than its ancestors, on the classification of terminal Gorenstein singularities, but it is very well written and very enjoyable.
