The authors introduce some gap functions for set-valued variational inequality problems under suitable assumptions. By using theses gap functions they derive global error bounds for the solution of the set-valued variational inequality problems. Their results generalize the previously known results for classical variational inequalities from the single-valued case to the set-valued and at the same time they present a way to construct gap functions and derive global error bounds for set-valued variational inequality problems. The paper is a careful and well-written account of certain aspects of variational inequality problems. Current research in the problem is discussed and further outlines of investigation are suggested.
