Let \(A\) be a finite-dimensional algebra over an algebraically closed field. In the paper under review the author compares Galois coverings of the algebras \(A\) and \(B=\text{End}_A(T)\), where \(T\) is a basic (generalized) tilting \(A\)-module. For a fixed group \(G\) the author compares the sets of iso-classes of connected Galois coverings with group \(G\) for \(A\) and \(B\). Under some conditions on \(T\) (formulated in terms of the Hasse diagram \(\overrightarrow{\mathcal K}_A\) of the poset of all basic tilting \(A\)-modules) the author shows that there is a bijection between these two sets. In particular, the latter is always true in the case when \(\overrightarrow{\mathcal K}_A\) is connected (which happens, in particular, when \(A\) has finite representation type). As a corollary, the author gets the following result: If both \(A\) and \(B\) are of finite representation type and standard, then the Auslander-Reiten quivers of \(A\) and \(B\) have isomorphic fundamental groups. As another corollary, the author shows that in the case when the diagram \(\overrightarrow{\mathcal K}_A\) is connected, the algebra \(A\) is simply connected if and only if the algebra \(B\) is simply connected. Finally, the author shows that the type of any simply connected tilted algebra is a tree and that its first Hochschild cohomology group vanishes.
