The authors discuss the initial-boundary value problem for the equation \(u_{tt}+g_{0}(u_{t})=\Delta u+f(u)\) in \(\Omega \times (0,\infty )\) with the boundary condition \(\partial _{\nu }u+u+g(u_{t})=h(u)\) in \(\partial \Omega \times [0,\infty ).\) They prove local existence, uniqueness and continuous dependence (with respect to the initial data in a finite energy topology) of a solution. These results, in conjunction with global a priori bounds already available elsewhere, will allow to construct a dynamical system being generated by strongly continuous semigroup.
