This paper deals with fractional integrals and derivatives in the space of Pettis integrable functions. The fractional Pettis integral for Banach space valued functions, and the corresponding derivative are introduced. Then the author proves some fractional-calculus results for Lebesgue integrable functions in the Pettis space setting. The results obtained are used to investigate the existence of pseudo-solutions of the following fractional-order boundary value problem in a Banach space \(E\): \[ \begin{gathered} D^\alpha x(t)+\lambda a(t)f(t,x(t))=0,\;t\in[0,1],\\ x^{(k)}(0) =0,\;k=0,1,\dots,n-2,\\ x(1)+\int^1_0u(\tau)x(\tau)d\tau=l, \end{gathered} \] where \(\lambda\in\mathbb{R}\), \(u\in L^p\), \(a\in L^q\), \(l\in E\), and \(D^\alpha(\alpha\in(n-1, n],n\geq 2)\) denotes the Riemann-Liouville derivative.
