The 6-th edition of this book provides a solid basic knowledge of measure and integration theory. Addressed to a broad audience the book confers background material for functional analysis, harmonic analysis, probability theory and stochastics. Many examples and exercises complement the theory. As such it can serve as a textbook for pure and applied mathematics students as well as for physics students. An interesting feature is the presence of many original quotes and references to historical developments.
