Let \((M,g)\) be a compact Riemannian manifold with boundary. Given a function \(f\) on \(M\), its geodesic ray transform along a geodesic joining two boundary points is obtained by integrating \(f\) along this geodesic using arc length parametrization. Under the assumption that \((M,g)\) is simple and that the Riemannian metric \(g\) is real-analytic, this paper establishes a support theorem for the geodesic ray transform: if the geodesic ray transform of a square integrable function \(f\) vanishes on an appropriate open set of geodesics, then this function vanishes on the set of points lying on these geodesics. The proof of this result relies on analytic microlocal analysis.
