Two different categories of tests based on rational and nonrational arithmetic operations for the discrete scattering Hurwitz 2-D polynomials are presented. A polynomial \(B(z_ 1,z_ 2)\) is called discrete scattering Hurwitz if \(B(z_ 1,z_ 2)\neq 0\) for \(| z_ i| <1\), \(i=1,2\), and \(B(z_ 1,z_ 2)\), \(B_*(z_ 1,z_ 2)\) are factor coprime, where \(B_*(z_ 1,z_ 2)=z_ 1^{n_ 1}z_ 2^{n_ 2}\bar B(\bar z_ 1^{-1},\bar z_ 2^{-1})\) is the paraconjugate associated with \(B(z_ 1,z_ 2)\), \(n_ i=\deg_{z_ i}B(z_ 1,z_ 2),\) \(i=1,2\).
