    Let \({\mathfrak M}\) be the set of all rational functions which are bounded at infinity and have non-real poles, \({\mathfrak k}\) is a Hilbert space. If \(H_ 0\) and V are self-adjoint operators in \({\mathfrak k}\) and \(V\in {\mathfrak S}_ p\) for a natural \(p\) \((p>1)\), then, for all \(\phi\in {\mathfrak M}\), \[ {\mathcal R}_ p:=\phi (H_ 0+V)-\sum^{p-1}_{k=0}\frac{1}{k!}\frac{d^ k\phi (H_ 0+tV)}{dt^ k}|_{t=0}\in {\mathfrak S}_ 1; \] and there exists a real function \(\Xi\) with bounded variation (which depends on \(H_ 0,V\) and \(p\)) such that \[ \operatorname{tr} {\mathcal R}_ p=\int_{{\mathbb{R}}}\phi^{(p)}(\lambda)d\Xi (\lambda). \] This is a generalization of a result of \textit{M. G. Krejn} [Mat. Sb., N. Ser. 33 (75), 597--626 (1953; Zbl 0052.12303)].
