Let G be a discrete Abelian group containing a subsemigroup \(G_+\) which introduces an Archimedian-linear order in G. For a \(C^*\)-dynamical system (A,G,\(\alpha)\) the authors consider the dual system \((B=C^*(A,G,\alpha),\hat G,{\hat \alpha})\) and the subalgebra \({\mathfrak A}(G,{\hat \alpha})\) of B consisting of elements with nonnegative \({\hat \alpha}\)-spectrum (in G). It is shown that simplicity of A is sufficient (and also necessary if \(G={\mathbb{Z}})\) for \({\mathfrak A}(G,{\hat \alpha})\) to be maximal in B. This theorem generalizes the Wermer's theorem about maximality of the disk-algebra in C(\({\mathbb{T}}).\) The similar question is solved for a \(C^*\)-dynamical system associated with a von Neumann algebra with a homogeneous periodic state.
