Biased intrachromosomal gene conversion in a chromosome lineage (English)

The evolution of a single chromosome lineage is studied under intrachromosomal gene conversion among tandemly repeated genes. Direct and diffusion approximations for fixation probability and fixation time for a gene are obtained. Conversional bias would greatly increase sequence homogeneity. Some classical results on mutation and selection in a finite population are extended.
