    The author discusses the sufficient conditions for the \(L^ 2({\mathbb{R}}^ n)\)-boundedness of pseudo-differential operators: \[ \sigma (X,D)f(x)=(2\pi)^{-n}\int _{{\mathbb{R}}^ n}e^{ix\cdot \xi}\sigma (x,\xi)\hat f(\xi)d\xi. \] By \textit{H. O. Cordes} [J. Funct. Anal. 18, 115-131 (1975; Zbl 0306.47024)] and \textit{A. Miyachi} [Math. Nachr. to appear], it has already known that symbols of class \(C^{(n/2)+\epsilon}\), \(\epsilon >0\) (with respect to x and \(\xi\) separately) generated \(L^ 2({\mathbb{R}}^ n)\)-bounded operators, while not of class \(C^{n/2}\). Here \(C^{\alpha}\) denotes a Lipschitz space of order \(\alpha\). This paper shows that symbols of class \(B^{n/2}_{\infty,1}\) also generate \(L^ 2({\mathbb{R}}^ n)\)-bounded operators. Here \(B^{n/2}_{\infty,1}\) is a Besov space of order n/2, and the inclusions \[ C^{(n/2)+\epsilon}\subsetneqq B^{n/2}_{\infty,1}\subsetneqq C^{n/2} \] hold for \(\epsilon >0\).
