In terms of the theory of two-member elastoplastic processes, various problems of stability beyond the elastic limit are solved by the energy method for a plane bending of an I-beam in the Kármán statement. The calculated results are compared with the estimates in terms of the flow theory and the theory of small elastoplastic deformations.
