The paper deals with a model population in which all juveniles become adults and all adults die in the next generation after reproducing offspring. The model is of the following form: \[ x_{n+1}=y_ n(a_ n-f(y_ n)),\quad y_{n+1}=x_ n(b-g(y_ n)), \] where \(x_ n\) and \(y_ n\) denote the number of juveniles and adults, respectively, at time n; \(a_ n\) is the birth rate and \(b_ n\) the survival probability, and f and g represent density dependent relationships. The author considers separately the autonomous model (a and b independent of n) and nonautonomous model (the general one). In both cases the conditions for strong and weak persistence are formulated.
