Assume that the potential \(V\) can be splitted into a smooth long range part, and a short range part decaying as \(| x|^{-m-1- \varepsilon}\) at infinity \((\varepsilon>0,\;m\geq 1)\). Then, it is proved that the wave operators associated to the two-body Schrödinger operator \(-\Delta+V\) maps continuously the set \(L^{2,s}\) of \(L^ 2\)-functions decaying like \(| x|^{-s_ 1}\) at infinity, to the set \(L^{2,s_ 2}\), for any \(s_ 2<s_ 1\). Moreover, the scattering operator is bounded on \(L^{2,s}\) for any \(s\) satisfying \(| s|\leq m\). The proof is based on various propagation estimates, and on a representation formula for the scattering operator due to Isozaki and Kitada, involving time-independent modifies.
