The Golden-Thompson inequality states that \(Tr(e^{A+B})\leq Tr(e^ Ae^ B)\) when both \(A\) and \(B\) are Hermitian matrices. This paper gives lower bounds for \(Tr(e^{A+B})\) in terms of traces of (operator) geometric means of exponentials in \(A\) and \(B\). Also other interesting trace inequalities are proven some of which involve logarithms of positive matrices and giving bounds for relative entropy. One of the main techniques in the proofs is to calculate the Legendre transform of certain functionals.
