The paper presents a statistical procedure called SIBTEST devoted to detecting either differential item functioning or differential test functioning. This is a development of multidimensional item response theory by the same authors. They present their procedure and next demonstrate a series of simulation studies where they compare the capability of the SIBTEST and the Mantel-Haenszel item bias DIF procedure. In the appendix the estimated regression of the true on the observed valid subtest score and the complete procedure to detect test bias are described.
