Let \(M\) be a real-analytic homogeneous hypersurface of \(\mathbb{C}^n\). The author gives a geometrical criterion for the local automorphism group of \(M\) to be infinite-dimensional. The main result is that the automorphism group is infinite if and only if the surface can be biholomorphically straightened in the sense of \textit{M. Freeman} [Ann. Math., II. Ser. 106, 319-352 (1977; Zbl 0372.32005)]. The author provides examples to illustrate that this criterion can not be reformulated in terms of Levi forms.
