Instabilities of the Skyrme model (Q1322972): Difference between revisions

The authors consider instabilities of the Skyrme model which are important in numerical simulations of the model. They demonstrate two mechanisms for the instability and derive a corrective measure. A stable finite difference scheme in three dimensions is also described which uses a factor of eight less memory than previous schemes.
