The author indicates a construction which generalizes crossed products by the group of integers, which can be carried out for partial automorphisms of a \(C^*\)-algebra (where a partial automorphism is defined as an isomorphism between two ideals of the given algebra). Then he shows that a \(C^*\)-algebra possessing an action of the circle group that is semi- saturated and regular can be regarded as a result of a construction of the mentioned type. Another main result is an extension to crossed products by partial automorphism of the Pimsner-Voiculescu exact sequence for \(K\)-groups.
