This monograph offers a detailed mathematical treatment of waves, including the shock discontinuities, within the framework of general relativity. In particular, the gravitational, electromagnetic and magnetohydrodynamic shock waves and waves are treated by the method of tensor distributions in the curved space-time. The book can be used by researchers as well as by graduate students in the considered field of mathematical physics. The main text is devided into the following eight chapters: Tensor distributions; Maxwell's equations and electromagnetic waves over a curved space-time; Einstein's equations and the Leray theorem; Gravitational and electromagnetic shock waves; Relativistic hydrodynamics; The equations of magnetohydrodynamics; Magnetohydrodynamic shock waves; Hugoniot's function and applications. In addition, there are three annexes: Shock waves and Alfvén waves; Magnetosonic rays; Classical approximations of the relativistic shock equations. Then follow bibliography with sixteen references cited, and a note, entitled as ``Approach to a quantum theory of fields for a curved space-time'', with two chapters: Tensor propagators; Applications to quantization problems over a curved space-time. Finally, there is an additional list of twelve references relevant to the subject treated in the note.
