The paper shows how to use a complementary operators method to truncate the computational domain of open region radiation problems. The method works not only for Maxwell's equations, but can be uniformly extended to solve both acoustic and elastic wave problems on open media. Numerical results demonstrate how efficient the complementary operators are to suppress artificial reflections at the computational domain boundaries.
