We prove that there exists a canonical isomorphism between the coeffective cohomology of a compact symplectic nilmanifold \(\Gamma\backslash G\) and the coeffective cohomology of the Lie algebra \({\mathfrak g}\) of \(G\). This result permits to compute in a very simple way the coeffective cohomology for a large family of symplectic manifolds. A similar result is proved for the coeffective cohomology of compact almost cosymplectic nilmanifolds. Both results hold for completely solvable symplectic and cosymplectic manifolds.
