The authors consider the problem of robust performance in the \(l^\infty\) sense for dynamic uncertain systems with time-varying uncertainties and unknown but bounded disturbances. The worst-case \(l^\infty\) norm bounds of the output due to a step input and with zero initial conditions are presented. The method of estimation is based on the construction of a suitable polyhedral region. Moreover, necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of overshoot are given. The bounds are non-conservative and may be easily computed in finite number of steps. The method is illustrated by a second-order example. The main issue of the proposed procedures is to find the maximal invariant region in a given convex set.
