The authors study the scattering theory of a system that consists of a Schrödinger equation that interacts with a wave equation by a Yukawa type coupling. This is a long-range scattering problem. They prove the existence of the modified wave operators for general data without restriction on its size. Moreover, they determine the asymptotic behaviour for large times of the solutions with initial data in the range of the wave operators. The results are proven by extending the method previously used in the case of a family of generalized Hartree equations with long-range interaction. For this purpose they first solve the wave equation and then, they substitute the result into the Schrödinger equation, that becomes nonlinear and nonlocal in time.
