The authors prove the existence of a unique solution of the following Dirichlet problem for elliptic equations in divergence form \[ a_0(u,v) = \langle T,v\rangle \text{ for all } v \in H^1_0(\Omega), \] where \(\Omega\) is an open set in \(R^n\) and \[ a_0(u,v)=\int_\Omega(\sum^n_{i,j=1} a_{ij}u_{x_i}v_{x_j}+\sum^n_{i=1}b_iu_{x_i}v+cuv) dx. \] The solution satisfies the estimate \(\|u\|_{H^1(\Omega)}\leq K_1\|T\|_{H^{-1}(\Omega)}\).
