Der Differentialausdruck \(\varrho dx : \sqrt R\) wo \(\varrho\) und \(R\) ganze Functionen von \(x\) sind, kann nach Abel ``Sur l'intégration de la formule différentielle etc.'' nur dann durch Logarithmen integrirt werden falls die Kettenbruchentwickelung von \(\sqrt R\) periodisch ist; die algebraischen Bedingungen und die Form dieser Entwickelung werden in vorliegender Note einfacher und directer als bei Abel hergeleitet.
