Ist \(f(x)\) eine ganze Function, deren Grad niedriger ist als derjenige von \(F(x) = (x - a)^{\alpha}\; (x - b)^{\beta}\; (x - c)^{\gamma} \dots (x - l)^{\lambda}\); bedeuten \(\omega_{\alpha}(x), \omega_{\beta}(x), \dots\) diejenigen ganzen Functionen von \(x\), welche aus \(F(x)\) entstehen, wenn \(F(x)\) durch \((x - a)^{\alpha}\) resp. \((x - b)^{\beta}\) dividirt wird, so ist: \[ \frac{f(x)}{F(x)} = \frac{1}{(\alpha - 1)!}\;D_{a}^{\alpha - 1} \left[ \frac{f(a)}{(x - a) \omega_{\alpha} (a)}\right]+ \frac{1}{(\beta - 1)!}\;D_{b}^{\beta - 1} \left[ \frac{f(b)}{(x - b)\; \omega_{\beta} (b)} \right] + \cdots. \]
