Herr Zeuthen beweist den Satz von Duhamel durch Umwandlung der Reihe \(s_n = u_1 + u_2 +\cdots + u_n\) in \[ s_n = (u_1 - u_2) + 2(u_2 - n_3) + 3(u_3 - u_4) +\cdots + (n- 1)(u_{n-1} - u_n) nu_n \] und Vergleichung mit einer andern Reihe von der Art, dass immer \(\frac {u_{m + 1}} {u_m} - \frac {m} {m + \alpha}\).
